A 68 year old Shoshone woman died in a two vehicle accident yesterday morning at 200 East and U.S. Highway 93 in Jerome County.  Police say the accident happened just after 9:30 am when a southbound car pulled onto highway 93 and was struck by another car driven by a female from Kimberly.


White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a statement calling Idaho’s abortion laws “extreme and backwards” in response to a memo issued by the University of Idaho cautioning employees not to provide reproductive health counseling to students or risk losing their jobs or face criminal prosecution.


There is a new judge in Elmore County.  Idaho Governor Brad Little has appointed Theodore Fleming to be the county’s district Judge.  Fleming has been a lawyer in Idaho for nearly 20 years.


Authorities in Elmore County are asking the public to stay away from the Big Trinity Lake campground as they search for a missing person.  The Elmore County Sheriff's Office says an individual disappeared in the area of Big Trinity Lake and the surrounding campgrounds.


A suction-dredge gold miner from California who operated in an Idaho river containing federally protected salmon and steelhead without permits has been fined.  Shannon Poe was ordered to pay $150,000 following violations over three years of gold dredging on the South Fork of the Clearwater River.


The Idaho Legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will begin three days of training and meetings today in Twin Falls.  Although the Idaho Legislature is not in session now, JFAC’s fall meetings held outside of the Idaho State Capitol in Bosie have become a tradition and one of the warmups for a new legislative session that starts in January.


Idaho State Police Sergeant Michael Wendler who has been recovering in Idaho Falls since he was struck by a vehicle on September 8th.  Saturday he returned to his home in Twin Falls..  Members of the Magic Valley community lined the Perrine Bridge with signs and American flags to salute Sergeant Wendler as he crossed over into Twin Falls.



Gevani McCoy completed 22 of 27 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns, Elisha Cummings accounted for three TDs and Idaho beat Northern Colorado 55-35 Saturday night.

Lucas Johnson threw for a touchdown and ran for another and Montana added a touchdown off a trick play to turn back Idaho State 28-20 on Saturday, the Grizzlies 14-straight win in the series.  Leading 21-6 in the third quarter, Lucas threw a backwards pass to receiver Mitch Roberts who threw the ball into the end zone where a well-covered Cole Grossman came down with the ball for a 28-yard touchdown..

Quarterback Taylen Green and George Holani each had more than 100 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns, and Boise State shut out San Diego State in the second half and rolled to a 35-13 victory on Friday night.  It was Boise State’s first game without former starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier, who entered the transfer portal.

In local high school games from over the weekend.  First to Soccer, and boys games.  Sun Valley community school defeated Filer 6 to 0.  Peston defeated Twin Falls 3 to 0.  It was Wood River 1 Hillcrest 0.

For the Girls, Twin Falls defeated Preston 3 to 0.  The Sun Valley Community School 4 to 1.  Wood River 2 Hillcrest 2. 

In Friday Football, Castleford defeated Camas County 26 to 8.  Dietrich 68 over Shoshone 6.  Carey 88 over Valley 8.   Bishop Kelly 63 over Burley 14.  Minico defeated Canyon ridge 69 to 7 and Kimberly defeated Filer 61 to 7.  It was Raft River 54 over Glenns Ferry 20.  Wood River defeated Jerome 26 to 24.  Oakley said no to Lighthouse Christian 46 to 22.  Hansen defeated Hagerman 34 to 20.  Twin Falls outlasted Mountain Home 66 to 13 and Wendell defeated American Falls 28 to 6. 

On the soccer schedule, Filer travels to Gooding.  Buhl goes to Declo.  Bliss heads to Kimberly and Wendell boards the bus to Sun Valley to play the Community School. 

On the Volleyball schedule, Twin Falls Christian Academy heads to Camas County.
