One person has died in an accident on State Highway 51 in Owyhee County.  36-year old Armand Mason of Mountain Home was northbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a construction sweeper driven by James Cole of Declo.

An Ada County jury has decided Idaho State Police retaliated against a detective after he raised concerns about a fatal crash investigation years ago. The jury awarded Brandon Eller $1.5 million in damages and $30,500 in lost wages.

Search crews are looking for a Utah man that disappeared Tuesday from the Paradise Creek Treatment Center.  The center is an inpatient facility that treats sexual addiction.  59-year-old Eldon Buchanan was last seen at 2:57 p.m. on foot south of Malta.

The public has been invited to pay its respect to former secretary of the Interior and Idaho Gov. Cecil D. Andrus. The 85-year-old Andrus died last Thursday of complications from lung cancer. People can pass by Andrus' casket in the Idaho Statehouse until Thursday afternoon.

This week marks 25 years since the end of an Idaho standoff that left a 14-year-old boy, his mother and a federal agent dead, and sparked a growth in radical, right-wing groups across the U.S. The standoff at Ruby Ridge unfolded over 11 days in 1992 at a remote cabin near the Canadian border.

Wildlife advocates and a Montana Indian tribe are asking a U.S. court to restore protections for grizzly bears in and around Yellowstone National Park so that trophy hunting of the fearsome animals wouldn't be allowed. The Northern Cheyenne Tribe and several conservation groups filed lawsuits challenging the government's recent move to lift protections.

Authorities have identified an elderly couple found dead in their Nampa home with apparent gunshot wounds in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide.  Officials say 83-year-old Harry L. Price and his wife, 82-year-old Eunice K. Price, died from gunshot wounds.

People who want to snowmobile in Yellowstone next winter without a guide can enter a lottery starting this Friday.  The park requires all non-commercially guided snowmobile groups that enter the park to have a permit.

Crystal Gayle was at #1 on the US Country chart with “Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". The song was written by Richard Leigh and first appeared on Gayle's 1977 album, We Must Believe in Magic. Jerry Reed, country music singer, guitarist, songwriter, and actor died. His signature songs included "Guitar Man,", "A Thing Called Love," (both of which were covered by Elvis Presely), "When You're Hot, You're Hot" "Ko-Ko Joe", "East Bound and Down" (the theme song for the 1977 blockbuster Smokey and the Bandit, in which Reed co-starred), and "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)".

2010
Miranda Lambert received five nominations for the 44th annual Country Music Association awards. Three were for the second single from her album Revolution, "White Liar,". Lambert later donated the original, handwritten copy of "White Liar" to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for public display behind a glass case.

Chris Young Joins Grand Ole Opry Oct. 17

When Chris Young, 32, woke up at 7 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 29), he had his entire work day mapped out in his head.

He knew his day would include a party to celebrate his No. 1 hit “Sober Saturday Night” with Vince Gill, followed by a performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

And then he had a plan to get home fast and get some shuteye so he could wake up fresh for a production shoot the following day to promote his sixth album Losing Sleep.

But Gill and the Opry had other plans in store for Young’s performance.

By the time Young hit the Opry stage to perform his first song of the night, “Getting You Home,” his GoFundMe campaign online had raised more than $300,000 to support Hurricane Harvey victims through the American Red Cross.

Then after singing “Lonely Eyes,” Gill walked onstage to surprise Young with two RIAA plaques recognizing his platinum-certified album Neon and single “Think of You,” as well as their gold hit “Sober Saturday Night.”

After giving Young a hard time about not getting paid for his session work on their hit collaboration, Gill casually invited Young to join the Grand Ole Opry.

“I’ll make you a deal,” Gill said. “I’ll forgive the session fees if you’ll be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

As someone who is not easily surprised, Young was visually floored by the invitation. Young bent over, pointed and smiled at Gill, and then he hugged the Country Music Hall of Famer so tightly, he lifted him off his feet.

 “Dang, you got me good,” Young said. “I love you guys. I love everybody here. I love this place.”

Young’s induction ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 17.

After his performance, Young met with media backstage and said becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry has always been his white whale. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee, native recalled being raised on the historic show as a child and added that he would often call WSM-AM/Nashville as a fan to speak with station personality Bill Cody.

He said it meant the world to him that his grandfather, Richard Yates, was there with his family to witness the invitation. Yates raised Young on classic country by Marty Robbins and Lefty Frizzell, and he wouldn’t be a country singer without his influence.

“That’s the only time I saw him cry tears, and he was trying to stop,” Young said of his grandfather. “Pretty incredible. This sounds really morbid, but when your grandfather looks at you and said, ‘I’m glad I was around to see it,’ that’s special.”

“I had no idea this was coming,” he told CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown. “It was a really incredible day. There is a lot of stuff going on — with the fundraising we’re doing for Harvey relief, the No. 1 with Vince, finding out that I have my first platinum record, getting that plaque, playing the Opry and then, yeah, Vince got me good today. Everybody got me good today.”

Young added that it is emotionally moving to see his followers contributing what they can to support Harvey victims.

“The thing is, people giving $1, that $1 may change somebody’s life,” Young said. “They might need that $1 for something that’s really going to help somebody that needs it. It’s all about genuine compassion and humanity from people worrying about other people. It’s pretty incredible to see.”

Young added he doesn’t know what has happened to his Texas home, which was in the direct path of the storm. But everything considered, he doesn’t care. He just wants to help those affected by the storm rebuild their lives in the quickest way possible. His goal is to raise $500,000 for the American Red Cross.

“I’m more worried about the people, about everybody else getting out, being safe, finding their loved ones and making sure they’re OK … A lot of the things that you see where people’s businesses are gone — not just their homes — their way to make money and their way of life may be completely changed in the short term and possibly the long term. There’s a lot about that that makes you want to do something to help.”

One of them sleezy not-so-reliable Hollywood tabloids is reporting that Miranda Lambert is desperate to meet ith Blake Shelton after his reported split from Voice co-star Gwen Stefani.  It’s been more than two years since Blake and Miranda split and divorced, but she’s finally ready to sit down and hash things out - this according to a new report that doesn't identify the source.  This so-called "source" says “There’s still a lot of unfinished business between [Miranda] and Blake. She needs to look straight into Blake’s eyes, ask certain questions, and get answers.”  The source goes on to say that Miranda is very happy with her man, Anderson East, but feels a face-to-face with Blake is what she needs to fully be ready to commit to another relationship.

YouTube star Todrick Hall revealed in a new interview that he was sworn to secrecy after filming his stint as a backup dancer in Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" music video in May.  He said "It was the hardest secret ever to keep, but I know how I am as an artist and when I'm creating stuff, even if it's just on my YouTube channel, I don't want anyone to tell anything, I don't want anybody to post a Snapchat or a picture."  Since its premiere, "Look What You Made Me Do" has become YouTube's most-viewed music video in a 24-hour period with an astounding 43.2 million views.

Bots have ruined a good thing once again.  Tickets for Bruce Springsteen’s eight-week run of Broadway shows went on sale yesterday morning, and despite the efforts of Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan” program, they were available almost immediately on secondary-market websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats for thousands of dollars.  Ten minutes after they went on sale, StubHub listed a pair of “Springsteen on Broadway” tickets at the 975-capacity Walter Kerr Theatre for $6,700.  Several dates on Vivid Seats are listing front row center orchestra by unknown sellers with prices ranging from $9,000 to as “low” as $6,000.  What I want to know is this - what ever happened to ticket scalping laws?  I can remember a time when if I stood outside the Fargodome and tried to resell my Pearl Jam tickets, it could lead to fines and jailtime.  When did that law of morality go out the window?

Authorities in Nampa say an elderly couple is dead after an apparent shooting. Someone called police just after 9 a.m. yesterday to report a shooting then hung up.  No suspects are being sought.  Investigators have yet to determine whether it's a murder-suicide.

A man and a woman were arrested over the weekend after, police say they stole shoes, clothes, jewelry and mascara from Shopko in Twin Falls and the man threatened to kill an employee who tried to stop them.  The two suspects were identified as 33 year old Nicholas Coxey and 36 year old Rebecca Dudley both of Twin Falls.

Blaine, Camas and Gooding counties are eligible for federal aid to help repair damage due to flooding this spring.  President Donald Trump approved the disaster declaration covering the three counties, plus Elmore and Custer counties.

Officials say a school bus with 45 children aboard has collided with a pickup truck in Boise yesterday afternoon, but none of the school children were seriously injured.  The driver of the pickup has been transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Officials say a Washington state man is in custody following the killing of a Washington state cabdriver in northern Idaho. 19-year-old Jacob Corban Coleman was taken into custody on Monday on suspicion of first-degree murder.

A northern Idaho lawmaker says he and his wife are lucky to be alive after escaping serious injury in a vehicle crash. Republican Rep. Luke Malek of Coeur d'Alene said he and his wife were traveling on Highway 95 north of Moscow on Saturday when a hay bale flew off a nearby trailer.

Idaho officials have declined to seek a ban on a toxic landscaping shrub blamed for than 100 wildlife deaths in the past two winters. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture on Monday completed its negotiated-rulemaking process and didn't include a rule banning such plants for the Legislature to review.

Health officials say a rabid bat was found in Ada County. Officials with the Health Department said Tuesday the dead bat was brought into a home by a family cat in the Eagle area.

Born on this day in Nashville, Tennessee was Ellen Muriel Deason who became known as Kitty Wells. Her 1952 hit "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels", made her the first female country singer to top the US country charts, and turned her into the first female country star. In 1976, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame; as of 2011 - at the age of 92 - is its oldest living member. Wells' accomplishments earned her the moniker, 'The Queen of Country Music.'

Hank Williams went into Herzog Studio in Cincinnati to record "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". Williams wrote the song originally intending that the words be spoken, rather than sung. The song about loneliness was largely inspired by his troubled relationship with wife Audrey Sheppard and was released as the B side to "My Bucket's Got a Hole in It" which was a #2 hit in 1949.

How Brad Paisley Spreads Kindness

Compliments and Gratitude Go a Long Way.  I don’t think we’ve ever needed kindness more. It’s one of the only silver linings around the cloud hovering over Houston right now.

When you see neighbors rescuing neighbors, and strangers helping strangers, it makes you think that the whole world has accepted the Kindness Challenge.

One of the recent country stars to join the K.C. is Brad Paisley. He accepted the challenge from actor Olivia Munn, and shared some quick advice on how he stays kind.

“Ten seconds of how I spread kindness,” Paisley says in his Instagram video. “Go.”

“First of all, compliment people. Look for the positive. Say something nice about them. Look for the things they do or say that you love.

“And then also, say thank you. Saying thank you is key these days when somebody does something for you,” he says.

When he was done, he challenged fellow artist Darius Rucker and country radio’s Cody Alan and Bobby Bones to share their kind of kindness with their followers to keep the chain going.

On Monday (Aug. 28), Paisley also tweeted a story about a man in Texas City who had a boat and was planning on saving some lives.

Luke Bryan’s Equipment Truck Crashes Into Overpass

This is no time to make “Crash My Party” or “This Is How We Roll” jokes.

A Tractor trailer carrying equipment for Luke Bryan’s Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour crashed into an overpass early Monday morning (Aug. 28) on a Long Island parkway.

The equipment truck wedged under the overpass at 2:30 a.m. after Luke’s concert at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on Aug. 27, causing two lanes of traffic to be shut down.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

The family of two Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmembers killed by the 1977 plane crash have won an injunction against 'Street Survivor.'  The movie is a story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash - and the problem is that Artimus Pyle, a former drummer for the band, contributed to the film - but had signed away his right to do that very thing decades ago.  According to lore, the survivors of the 1977 plane crash that killed two of the band's original members took a "blood oath" never to use the name Lynyrd Skynyrd again. That pact was tested a decade later by a "Lynyrd Skynyrd Live" album in conjunction with a 1987 tour. Afterwards, the parties entered into a settlement agreement, adopted by a judge as a "Consent Order." One of the signatories was Artimus Pyle.  When word of Street Survivor got around, heirs of Van Zant and Gaines - the two who died in the crash - as well as founding lead guitarist Gary Rossington sued the makers and alleged Pyle assisted the making of the movie in violation of his agreements.  In an opinion released Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Sweet wrote "Cleopatra is prohibited from making its movie about Lynyrd Skynyrd when its partner substantively contributes to the project in a way that, in the past, he willingly bargained away the very right to do just that; in any other circumstance, Cleopatra would be as 'free as a bird' to make and distribute its work."

The new "It" movie is being blamed for scaring off business for working clowns - and they're not happy about it!  Producers of the new flick argue that the movie's main villain, Pennywise, is just another in the history of the horror genre.  In an interview, producer Seth Grahame-Smith said "It’s not as if a group of NHL goalies got up and protested Jason or a group of toy manufacturers protested Chucky."  In April, filmmaker Stephen King tweeted that real clowns were mad at him. He said "Sorry, most are great. BUT ... kids have always been scared of clowns.  Don't kill the messengers for the message."

The body of a 71-year-old woman discovered Saturday morning was found inside the trunk of her vehicle.  The Elmore County Sheriff's Office said Paula Knudson Ferbrache was reported missing after she left work at 2 p.m. Friday and never returned home.

Federal officials have reopened public comments on proposed routes for two high-voltage transmission lines in southwestern Idaho intended to modernize the Pacific Northwest's energy grid. The BLM will take comments through Sept. 27 for two segments of the Gateway West project proposed by Idaho Power and Rocky Mountain Power.

U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke says he wants to speed up a proposal to block new gold mining claims on forested public land near Yellowstone and will consider blocking other types of mining. The Interior Department is undergoing a two-year review launched by Zinke's predecessor following concerns over two gold mines proposed in the forests that border Yellowstone.

Idaho lawmakers are mulling several key changes to the state's campaign disclosure laws to shine more transparency into a system has seen more money funneled into state and local elections. The bipartisan working group met yesterday to hear possible recommendations from the state's top lobbyists and Secretary of State Lawerence Denney.

The state has auctioned off 59 residential cabin sites in northern Idaho, bringing in $29.1 million. The Spokesman-Review reports a majority of the Priest Lake properties went to buyers that already owned cabins on the land. The cabin sites were sold at their appraised values which ranged from $313,000 to $707,000.

Construction and large equipment is the reason the Baumgartner campground is closed this upcoming Labor Day weekend.  The campground is located along the South Fork of the Boise River east of Featherville. Citing safety concerns, the Sawtooth National Forest's Fairfield Ranger District closed the area. 

Black flies have returned to the area and this time in mass.  Officials say it’s likely to be much worse before the first killing frost.  The bountiful black fly population is a result of last winter’s record snowpacks that resulted in high flows in the Snake River this spring and early summer.

Another Twin Falls City Budget is coming to a close.  At the council Meeting this week the proposal was finalized.  The new 66-point 0ne million dollar budget will increase street spending, provide raises for city employees and increase utility rates.

Brothers Osborne, Lauren Alaina and Dustin Lynch will reveal the final nominees for the 51st annual CMA Awards during a Sept. 4 segment on ABC’s Good Morning America in New York’s Times Square.

Nominees in select categories will be announced during the 8:30 a.m. ET half-hour segment of GMA. Immediately following the show, the remaining categories, as well as the CMA Broadcast Awards nominees will be revealed live on GoodMorningAmerica.com and other online and social media.

Brothers Osborne, the reigning CMA vocal duo of the year, will close out Good Morning America‘s Labor Day show with a performance of “It Ain’t My Fault.”

Kevin Hart is calling on his fellow celebrities to help make a difference in helping the victims of Hurricane Harvey.  The comedian posted a video to Instagram starting a new "challenge" he's hoping will sweep social media among his famous friends.  In the video, he says "I'm starting a real challenge" and says that he will "lead the charge in stepping up this way." And now, the interwebs breaks down who and what Taylor Swift is dissing in her new music video.  Taylor dropped “Look What You Made Me Do” last Thursday, and the video for the new single premiered Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards – and it’s FULL of subtle jabs at all of the haters who have chased Taylor’s career around.  First, the snakes.  She’s pictured in the video sitting on a throne surrounded by snakes.  This, apparently because when Kim Kardashian went after her on social media for being upset about husband Kanye West referring to her as the “b” word in his single “Famous”, she referred to her as a snake, posting “Wait… it’s legit national snake day?  They have a holiday for everyone!”  The I <3 TS tank tops her back up dancers are wearing in the video?  That’s from when everybody made fun of her ex-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston for rocking the same shirt when they were photographed at a party together.  The surprise face jab at the end of the video?  In 2011, after winning her 3rd award at the American Music Awards, she looked just as shocked to win #3 as she did to win #1 – and whether it was a pretend shock-face or not, the world made fun of her for it.   And the part in the video where young Taylor says “stop acting like you’re all nice” while yet another Taylor says, “There she goes playing the victim again.”  That’s about all of the backlash she got after “playing the victim” when she and Calvin Harris broke up.  Care about it all or not, Taylor gets the last laugh.  Can you imagine the size of that bank account?

Selena Gomez is the latest in the long and growing list of celebrities to have their social media accounts hacked.  Hers was broken into yesterday, and the hackers took their unauthorized access to post naked pictures of ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.  The account was deactivated very shortly after the hack took place, allegedly by Selena’s record label who has been running her Instagram account for some time now.  In an interview earlier this year, Gomez revealed that she purposely started posting less on the photo-sharing site, no longer has the app on her phone and does not know the password to her account.  She said that she always ended up feeling poorly of herself when she went on Instagram, so called it quits.

Lincoln County commissioners may see a pay raise with a new proposed budget.  The 2018 budget is still being finalized.  Currently they are being paid $18-thousand.  The new wage would be around $31-thousand.

Idaho officials have declined to move forward for now allowing the use of bait by hunters to specifically target wolves. The Idaho Fish and Game Commission voted 7-0 to direct the Department of Fish and Game to suspend an administrative process called negotiated rulemaking.

A Boise man wounded in an exchange of gunfire with police has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. 34-year-old Bryan Coy was sentenced Thursday in 4th District Court.

Former Idaho governor and federal Interior secretary Cecil Andrus has died. A onetime lumberjack, Andrus was elected to four terms as governor sandwiched around four years in President Jimmy Carter's Cabinet, engineering the conservation of millions of acres of land in Alaska. He was 85.

Detectives from the Twin Falls Police Department were able to locate the white van reported on August 22 in the area of Sunrise Blvd. and Shoup Avenue East and identify the occupants.  Detectives were able to confirm the vehicle and its occupants have legitimate reasons to be in that area of town.

A fire two miles north of Bliss burst out Sunday afternoon. At last check it’s burning well over a thousand acres.  BLM crews are working with the Bliss and Hagerman Rural Fire Department on the Old Dump Fire.

A Jerome man is displaced after a fire at his house on Saturday.  The Jerome City Fire Department says the flames started in a shed in the back yard and spread to the attic.  A neighbor saw smoke and notified the man in the house who was able to get out uninjured.

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Mountain Home woman. She was identified as 71-year-old Paula Knudson Ferbrache.

Idaho-born painter Archie Teater traveled the world and commissioned a studio by a Frank Lloyd Wright. He died in 1978 and is mostly forgotten now - except by an Idaho historical society that owns 600 of his paintings and hopes to revive demand for his work. The Hagerman Valley Historical Society is raising money to upgrade its museum. It's also loaning about 20 of Teater's paintings to a Ketchum museum for an exhibit during the resort town's busy winter season.

Latin American country singer Johnny Rodriguez was arrested at his home after shooting and killing a "drinking buddy" of his, Israel "Bosco" Borrego, whom he mistook for a burglar. He was charged with murder but was acquitted by a jury a year later on grounds of self-defense, under Texas law. On the eve of his trial, he was asked if his life was like a country song. "I guess it is," he said, "A bad one."

Alexandra Jane Jackson, the daughter of country music star Alan Jackson was arrested on charges of underage consumption, assault and resisting arrest in Nashville. Police pulled over the car Alexandra Jackson was a passenger for tailgating and speeding and when she exited the vehicle, she started making demands and struck the officer in the chest.

Why Brantley Gilbert Is Taking Up Golf

Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber are going to become parents in November. So he’s trying to become a father figure — in more ways than one — before the baby arrives.

“I’m trying to find some ‘dad hobbies,'” Gilbert told Billboard. “So I have been trying golf for the past four months.”

He is also preparing for the baby by getting some parenting tips from his mom Becky.

“She always has great advice. I think we all think that about our mothers,” he said. “She raised me and put up with me, so she definitely has had some helpful advice to raising this little fellow.”

Gilbert had even written a song about his mom and dad — “Modern Day Prodigal Son” — which became the title track of his 2009 debut album.

But when he was just a teenager, playing that song in motorcycle clubs and VFWs, he had become friends with the older guys who frequented the clubs.

“They weren’t the richest or the most polished, but the life lessons that they had, the way they cared about each other really spoke to me,” he recalled. “There was this one guy who ran with them, and he was this big mountain of a man. I thought he hung the moon.

“I sat down with them one night, and they asked me to play some songs, and I played that one. After I did it, this guy came up to me with tears in his eyes. He said, ‘I just thought I’d let you know that song spoke to me, and I can relate to that. My mom used to tell me some of the same stuff.’

“That really blew my mind for 16-year-old to have someone in their forties that you looked up to tell you that you wrote a song that they could relate to. That really turned the tables for me.”

Chris Young Donates $100,000 to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Chris Young has stepped up in big way to help provide direct support to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The Tennessee native donated $100,000 to his compatriots in Texas via a GoFundMe campaign that is benefiting the Red Cross.

Chris’ goal is to raise $500,000 through the campaign.

“As you all know, Texas was hit by Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall as a category four hurricane, the largest hurricane to hit the area in decades,” said Chris in a video. “Port Aransas, Rockport, Corpus Christi, Houston and so many other places are going to be dealing with so much damage and loss of life for a long time to come.

“I have friends and family there and I’m almost certain my house down there may have to be torn down as it was in one of the areas that was hardest hit by winds and flooding. But that’s the least of my concerns. I’m worried about the people there—my friends, family and neighbors—and I want to help.

“I’m pledging $100,000 to benefit the Red Cross in an effort to help everyone in Texas that has been affected by this hurricane. All donations will be routed through the Chris Young Foundation to distribute directly to Harvey relief through the Red Cross and other disaster relief organizations.

“Love you guys and every little bit helps. In times like these, you turn to your friends to help those in need and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I hope you’ll donate. And Texas, we love you.”

Idaho's U.S. Sen. Jim Risch says Congress needs to find a bipartisan solution to improving health care in the United States.  The Republican lawmaker spoke out on health care after a small group of activists surprised Risch at a small business forum on Thursday in Boise.

A developer wants to construct five buildings, including at least one restaurant, south of Walmart.  HB Properties, based in Salt Lake City, has requested a special use permit that would allow it to have five buildings with drive-through windows and hours of operation extended to 1 a.m.

A White House official says President Donald Trump has received U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's recommendations about national monuments protecting wilderness and ocean. Trump is reviewing Zinke's recommendations.

If you bought a lottery ticket in Jerome County, check it closely.  The Idaho Lottery announced Wednesday’s 758-million dollar Powerball Jackpot produced a winning ticket in Jerome County for 200-thousand dollars.  The winning numbers are 06 – 07 – 16 – 23 – 26 and the Powerball was 04.

Idaho law enforcement officials are looking for an inmate who went missing after he was granted permission to attend a funeral. 30-year-old Ryan Paul Henry was granted furlough to a funeral in Vale, Oregon Aug. 12.  Henry was being held for violating his probation in a felony drug possession case.

A second former employee of Chobani has accused the yogurt company of age discrimination. Virginia Tucker, who worked as a maintenance technician at the Twin Falls yogurt plant from January 2013 until she was fired in June 2015, filed a suit Monday in federal court. The suit says Tucker was older than 60 when she was fired.

A Nampa man has been taken into custody after police say shots he fired struck a police cruiser pursuing him. 52-year-old Lloyd Harrod was arrested on suspicion of felony aggravated assault on a police officer.

The top federal prosecutor in Nevada is vowing a third try to convict two accused gunmen of armed assault on a federal officer in a 2014 standoff that stopped a cattle roundup near states' rights figure Cliven Bundy's ranch.  On Tuesday, a jury acquitted Eric Parker and Scott Drexler.

Mindy McCready was jailed in Clearwater, Florida, after Pinellas County authorities arrested her on a warrant issued by the Williamson County sheriff's department in Franklin, Tennessee. McCready allegedly left Tennessee without telling her parole officer and did not report to her officer in July. This is her second parole violation and as a result, she was not allowed to post bail. McCready was on probation after pleading guilty to fraudulently obtaining the prescription drug, OxyContin, last year.

Reba McEntire released her twenty-fifth studio album Keep on Loving You which became McEntire's second album to top both the Billboard Country and 200 charts, selling almost 96,000 copies within its first week. The last ever Louisiana Hayride show was broadcast. What started as a country music radio show and later became a television show was broadcast from the Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana, that from 1948 to 1960 helped to launch the careers of some of the greatest names in American country & western music. The creators of the show took the name from the 1941 book with that title by Harnett Thomas Kane.

Born on this day in Burbank, California, was Jeffrey Steele, country music singer and songwriter who formed the band Boy Howdy, and along with recording his own material, Steele has become a prolific Nashville songwriter, having co-written more than sixty hit songs for such artists as Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw, ("The Cowboy in Me"), Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, (“These Days” and "What Hurts the Most"), Billy Ray Cyrus, and others.

Born on this day in Barrie, Ontario, was Jason McCoy, who has won many awards including the 2001 Male Vocalist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards. McCoy was a member of the country-rock group The Road Hammers from 2005–2010.

Garth Brooks released his second studio album, No Fences which reached #3 on the Billboard 200, and #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The album remains Brooks' best-seller to date with 17 million copies sold in the US alone.

Dixie Chicks released their sixth studio album Home, which is dominated by up-tempo bluegrass and pensive ballads. In addition, the text of the opening track and first single, "Long Time Gone", was a pointed criticism of contemporary country music radio, accusing it of ignoring the soul of the genre as exemplified by Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams.

Lee Brice’s “Redneck” Family to Face Off Against Jerrod Niemann’s “Genius” Family on Sunday’s “Celebrity Family Feud”

The families of longtime buddies Lee Brice and Jerrod Niemann will face off during an episode of ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud that airs on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m. ET.

Lee and Jerrod will be vying for $25,000 for their favorite charities on the popular game show that’s hosted by Steve Harvey. Lee will be playing for Folds of Honor, while Jerrod will be playing for the U.S.O.

“We had so much fun doing the show,” says Lee to Nash Country Daily. “It was the funniest thing because I brought the most red, red, redneck family that’s ever been on the show. Steve Harvey, who is a funny dude, was speechless at some of the things that came out of their mouths. My cousins and brother, they have no filter, and they are all country as hell. And then to go up against Jerrod’s family, which is all geniuses—I think they had a brain surgeon over—just made for great TV. You don’t want to miss it.”

Lee and Jerrod’s episode of Celebrity Family Feud will air on ABC on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m. ET.

The First Federal Race for the Future will be held tomorrow at First Federal Bank Park.  The 5k Fun Run/Walk starts at 6 p.m. and the 1 Mile Kids Dash starts at 7 p.m.  Post-Race fun includes music, entertainment, bounce ouses, and more!  Proceeds from the event will be donated to the MAGIC VALLEY TRAIL ENHANCEMENT COMMITTEE to assist with the continued development and maintenance of Magic Valley Trails.

On Tuesday night, Mel B did what I think we've all wanted to do to Simon Cowell at one point in time or another.  She stood up and threw a drink at his face on the set of America's Got Talent.  And she's NOT sorry.  The spat started when Cowell made a joke at the expense of the former Spice Girl after a magician’s stunt flopped on the show due to a technical malfunction. He said “I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B’s wedding night.  A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”  Immediately following the comment, Mel B stood up, removed the lid from her drink, and threw it right at Simon's face.  In an interview with E! News, Mel B said the night was a struggle for her after contestant Evie Clair made her cry when she sang about her dad passing away of cancer.  Mel said it made her think about HER dad who recently passed away after a nine year battle with cancer.  She said  “She just sounded so beautiful and I couldn’t stop crying, so I go from that to Simon saying something so rude and inappropriate.”  Following the drink toss, Mel B stormed off set.  In the interview, she said "My journey tonight was all over the place, but I’m a very real, honest person, so what you see is what you get.”

According to Katy Perry, the bad blood between her and Calvin Harris is a thing of the past.  In 2011, the two were in a Twitter fued after Harris canceled plans to open for her on tour last minute. She said "We'd had little falling outs here and there, (and) it was time to put all that behind us.  (He) played me this one part for this new song called ‘Feels' and I was like, ‘Oh yeah.' This is like my favorite song off the record. I was just down to do it."  The single that features both Harris AND Perry went top 10 this week on the pop charts.  Think we'll ever see a Katy Perry / Taylor Swift collaboration?  I wouldn't hold your breath.

And new movies out this weekend include Wind River, which shows tonight at the Magic Valley Cinema 13 in Twin and the Magic Lantern Theaters in Ketchum.  In the film, an FBI agent played by Elizabeth Olsen and a local tracker played by Jeremy Renner probe a murder at a Native American reservation. Jon Bernthal co-stars.  This is the directoral debut for  screenwriter Taylor Sheridan.  The film premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.  And the one this weekend for the kids is the 3D computer-animated musical adventure "Leap! (Ballerina)".  In it, an 11 year old orphaned girl arrives in Paris with no money but one big, passionate dream: to become a dancer. With nothing left to lose, she takes a big risk: she 'borrows' a spoiled brat's identity and enters the Opera Ballet School. But how long can she be someone else? Mentored by the tough and mysterious cleaner, Odette the girl learns that talent is not enough - it takes hard work to be better than her ruthless, conniving fellow students. That and friendship. In the film, her inventive, exhausting and charismatic best friend also has a dream of becoming a famous inventor. Together, they both encourage each other to reach for the stars.  The film stars the voices of Elle Fanning, Dane DeHaan, Maddie Ziegler and Carly Rae Jepsen and premieres tonight at the Magic Valley Cinema 13 and at the Magic Lantern.

A Utah man is out more than $20,000 after he set up an epic solar eclipse festival that an underwhelming amount of people showed up to.  Jeff Webb's eclipse festival in Cascade was complete with campsites, shuttles for parking, eight live bands, portable toilets and food for thousands of people.

A judge has ruled that grizzly bears in Montana and Idaho near the Canadian border can be considered endangered even if they are not on the brink of extinction. The order reversed the 2014 re-classification by U.S. wildlife officials for the 40-50 bears of the Cabinet-Yaak bear population under the federal Endangered Species Act. The officials said the bear population had stabilized and that its status should be "threatened." The judge sided with a conservation group that sued.

Officials in Eagle say a high school football field that had construction delays will be ready for Friday's home opener. The West Ada School District said the $600,000 field at Eagle High School will be ready for the team's game against defending state champion Mountain View.

A 58-year-old Washington state woman died and a 67-year-old Washington state man was injured when their utility-terrain vehicle rolled over at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in eastern Idaho. Authorities say Kimberly Bailey died in the crash on Monday and Allen Connelly sustained injuries after both were thrown from the vehicle during the rollover.

Montana environmental regulators have set a reclamation bond at just over $154,000 for gold exploration on private property north of Yellowstone National Park.  The bond is set at what the state DEQ estimates it would cost to reclaim the area if Lucky Minerals failed to do the work.

A rescue crew was called out around 8:30 Tuesday night that a BASE jumper was stuck on the canyon wall just below the Elevation 486 restaurant.  The man was rescued just after 10 pm.  Officials say he refused medical treatment.

Born on this day in Evansville, Indiana, was Fred Rose an American Hall of Fame songwriter and music publishing executive. Along with Hank Williams and the "Father of Country Music", Jimmie Rodgers, Fred Rose was one of the three charter members of the Country Music Hall of Fame when it opened in 1961. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970 and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1985. Rose died on December 1, 1954.

Born on this day near Magna, Utah, was Kristyn Osborn. With sisters Kristyn and Kassidy, she formed SHeDAISY, whose 1999 debut album, The Whole SHeBANG, won them a nomination from the Academy of Country Music for top new duet or group. Their hits include "Little Good-Byes," "This Woman Needs", "I Will… But", "Don't Worry 'bout a Thing".

American drummer and session musician Larrie Londin died. He played on more hit records during his career than any other drummer, with the possible exception of the legendary session drummer Hal Blaine. Londin moved to Nashville in 1969, and grew to be regarded as Nashville's top session drummer and played with a wide range of artists, including Emmylou Harris, Charley Pride, Randy Travis, Porter Wagoner, Dolly Parton, Albert Lee, Larry Carlton, Merle Haggard, Hank Snow, Jerry Reed, Rosanne Cash, Reba McEntire, KT Oslin, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Hank Williams, Jr., Chet Atkins, Ronnie Milsap, and many others.

Singer, songwriter, June Carter Cash underwent surgery to have a pacemaker installed. June died two years later in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 15, 2003, of complications following heart valve replacement surgery, in the company of her family and her husband of 35 years, Johnny Cash.

Curb Records released Live Like You Were Dying, the eighth studio album by Tim McGraw. The album was nominated for two Grammy's in 2005 for Best Country Vocal Performance Male and Best Country Album, winning for Best Country Vocal Performance.

2010
Doug Stone, who charted four #1 country hits in the '90s, was arrested for DUI in Gallatin, Tenn after he was pulled over when local police officers were called about a possible intoxicated driver. Stone was jailed and released later that day on $3,000 bond.

2013
"Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line logged its 24th week at #1, the longest run at #1 in the chart's 69-year history (the previous record was 21 weeks held jointly by three songs, the last of which was Webb Pierce's "In the Jailhouse Now"). In January 2014, it overtook Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" and became the best-selling country song in the US. As of March 2014, the song has sold in total 6,577,000 copies in the US.

Those like my wife who speculated that Taylor Swift’s cryptic messages and actions on social media over the last week have had something to do with dropping a new record – were totally on to something. Yesterday, Taylor revealed her big secret and announced to the world that on November 10^th, she’ll drop her new sixth studio album ‘Reputation’.   This is Taylor’s first major release in three years, and she says the new single will be released TONIGHT.  Taylor pulled a Beyonce when she kept all of this new record news to herself until it was almost time to drop it on the world – never mentioning a word on social media or in interviews that she had been working on new material, and almost completely vanishing from the public eye for the last year.  A source close to Swift told E! that Taylor has been working on(the album) around the clock and will be making an announcement soon, and that she’s really excited about her new music and can't wait to share it with her fans.  And rest assured, as soon as we have the new Taylor single in our hands later today, we’ll share it with you before anyone else here on Hot 100 FM.

Netflix has released its "coming in" and "going out" list for September, and according to the streaming platform, next month Netflix users will have access to the live-action Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Mulan and Pocahontas.  In additon to the Disney flicks, Netflix will welcom Jerry Seinfeld and Marc Maron stand-up specials, new seasons of Narcos, Bojack Horseman and Fuller HouseMs. Frizzle in The Magic School Bus Rides Again starring  Kate McKinnon, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda's Our Souls at Night and Angelina Jolie's controversial First They Killed My Father are all set to roll out onto the service next month.  Dead Poets Society and Pulp Fiction are also set to make their Netflix premieres in September.  But every time new stuff arrives on Netflix, other stuff has to go... and next month, the streaming service will say goodbye to Lilo & Stitch, The Emperor's New Groove, A Nightmare on Elm Street, CSI: Miami: Seasons 1 - 10 and Last Man Standing: Seasons 1 - 5.  If you want to see the full list of movies and TV shows coming and going, just visit my blog at Hot100Now.com.

And Ariana Grande delivered some sad news to her fans in Vietnam yesterday.  On her Instagram Story, the 24 year old singer announced that she had to cancel last night’s show of her Dangerous Woman Tour in Ho Chi Minh City due to health issues.  She said “I came here to Vietnam, so excited to perform, my doctor won’t allow me to do the show for you tonight. I’m so, so sorry. There is nothing I hate to do more than to do this, but I promise to make it up to you in the future.  I love you and thank you for understanding.”  Grande did not give any details about the nature of her illness, but this isn’t the first time the star has had to cancel a few tour dates this summer.  Last month she axed a pair of shows in Monterrey, Mexico for unknown reasons.  Knowing what Grande went through in Manchester earlier this year though, I can't imagine the mental break she's been going through is something one gets over really quickly.  Take your time, Ms. Grande - and your fans will be there for you when you're better.
