Yesterday, the Bureau of Land Management issued its final environmental review for the proposed lava ridge project, a large scale wind farm located northeast of Twin Falls. The decision calls for 241 turbines, from the 400 and the max height will be 660 feet. The company had asked for 400 structures. The BLM said efficient deployment of renewable energy from our nation’s public lands is crucial in achieving the Biden-Harris administration’s goal of a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035.
The decision didn’t set well with Idaho’s senior leadership and national representatives. Governor Brad Little, Lt Governor Scott Bedke, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, Senator Jim Risch and Congressman Mike Simpson said this is just the latest example of the Biden Administrations unsound energy agenda.
Public records from the Idaho department of correction show the state has paid a hundred thousand dollars to purchase the drugs necessary to carry out an execution by lethal injection. Idaho law limits access to information regarding the purchase.
The freeway near Hazelton is finally open this morning following a crash yesterday near ridgeway road. Police say a three car pileup closed the westbound lanes just before 7 last night. One person died at the scene while another was airlifted for treatment. Two others were also transported by ambulance. One car had slowed for traffic. Two more vehicles collided with the first one.
A motorcyclist was airlifted from a crash that occurred at the intersection of Pole Line road and Bridgeview Boulevard in Twin Falls Wednesday night. The cyclist was eastbound when a pickup turned in front of him. The motorcyclist is a 29 year old male from Shoshone.
Brig. Gen. Timothy Donnellan will be Idaho’s next adjutant General. Governor Brad Little made that announcement yesterday saying the appointment will take effect June 25. He replaces Maj. Gen. Michael Garshak who is retiring after 37 years of service.
