Most Idahoans trust public libraries and librarians and more Idahoans feel the state is on the wrong track than they have in the past decade, according to a new report published by Boise State University’s Idaho Policy Institute and School of Public Service. The survey was conducted in November, and it includes responses from over 1,000 adults in Idaho representing all 44 counties. In the survey, researchers asked Idahoans about their opinions related to the economy, education, housing, elections among other Idaho topics.
Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged. The Idaho department of labor said between November and December, it remained at 3.3%.

From the statehouse yesterday, Lawmakers on the House Health and Welfare Committee introduced legislation that would effectively repeal expanded Medicaid coverage in 2025. In a statement announcing his endorsement of the former president, Crapo the top Senate Finance Republican cited Trump's economic record and border security as reasons behind his support.
Even with the large amount of recient snowfall, officials say Idaho has a long way to go to get to the average level. Because of a dry November and December, many measuring sites are below normal. Northern Idaho is worse off than the South.
According to AAA, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $2.97, which is eight cents less than a week ago, 30 cents less than a month ago, and 43 cents cheaper than a year ago. Meanwhile, the national average sits at $3.08 per gallon.
