In a move that could be the end of private solar panels that were installed to generate power to sell back to Idaho Power, the Idaho Public Utility Commission approved a new way the power company must pay for the power.  They approved a net billing system instead of kilowatt hour for kilowatt hour.  The Sierra Club said the new compensation rate will be 5.96 cents down from 8.8 cents.  That could mean the cost of new solar panels will favor corporate solar ownership.


Idaho student murders suspect Bryan Kohberger's defense team has asked the judge to reconsider his denial of their efforts to have the indictment against him dismissed as prosecutors look to speed up the clock for the quadruple stabbing suspect's trial. Judge John Judge scheduled a closed-door hearing on the defense motion for Jan. 26.


An anti-government leader with Arizona ties who was ordered to pay more than 50-million dollars in a defamation lawsuit recently resurfaced on social media after going into hiding.  Right-wing extremist Ammon Bundy, in a post on X said he was driven out of his home in Idaho and has lost millions of dollars because of the lawsuit. Some reports say Bundy may be living in southern Utah.


The average teacher salary in Idaho increased by 9.1% to $61,516 this school year. Average salaries are up $5,151 since the 2022-23 school year. And average salaries have increased by 28% over the past 10 years, since the inception of the career ladder.

The Idaho State Capitol in Boise was searched and cleared early yesterday after Idaho was among several states that received nonspecific, emailed bomb threats that day.  The threat was reported around 5:30 am.


Jeremy Best who is accused of Killing his wife, unborn child and his 5 month old son appeared in court yesterday.  The 48 year old faces murder charges. He plead not guilty.


Following a ban that prevented the crop from entering most of Mexico until 2022, Idaho officials in a recent trade mission were eager to spotlight fresh potatoes.  The state and 20 Idaho businesses joined Gov. Brad Little in November for a five-day trade mission to Mexico City.
