Idaho’s passed a law in 2011 that closed party primaries. However, the law also allowed leaders of each party could keep their primaries open. The Idaho Democratic Party opted to do so. The Idaho Republican Party said no. Idahoans for Open Primaries is trying to change that. All the candidates would run against each other on the same primary ballot; the top four vote-getters would advance to the general election.
The Idaho State Police made a large drug bust near Idaho Falls Tuesday. They found 2.7 pounds of Meth, 2.7 pounds of Cocaine, over 5300 Fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia. Drug enforcement officers say they also found almost a pound of meth that was destined for Twin Falls.
Quadruple murder suspect, Majorjon Kaylor, came to a plea agreement with the state of Idaho in the case against him. In court documents filed Wednesday, Kaylor will plead guilty to four counts of second-degree murder. The remaining charge of burglary will be dismissed as part of the deal.

Accused murder suspect, Jeremy Best’s preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday is now vacated by order of the court. All proceedings in this case are now on hold until a mental capacity determination can be made. He is accused of killing his wife and unborn baby. He also is accused of taking his 10 month old son who was later found dead. Charges for his death have not been filed.
The defense team for Bryan Kohberger has been given access today to the house in Moscow where 4 U of I students were found murdered. The home is set to be demolished December 28th.
After months of legal battles, Idaho is still planning to change which company runs mental health services for one in five Idahoans. The decision who to pay $1.2 billion over four years to run Medicaid has been in the courts for months. Magellan Health will oversee the contract starting July 1.
