Just after 1 am yesterday, police shot and killed a 34 year old man in Idaho Falls after he ran following a traffic stop and allegedly began shooting at officers. The area was closed and the eastern Idaho critical incident task force is investigating.


There has been a double homicide in Meridian. Police say it occurred Sunday night just after 7. 33 year old Emily Works of Meridian and 41 year old Sarah Walmsley of Boise were killed and an 11 year old child was present when the murders occurred. Police say the suspect is 31 year old Clint Powers. While authorities were investigating the murders, the suspect allegedly held two people at a nearby residence at gunpoint and took their vehicle.


The woman allegedly killed by her husband in Victor on November 30 was pregnant. In addition to the original count of first-degree murder in the death of Kali Randall Best, the husband Jeremy Albert Best is charged with first-degree murder of the woman's unborn child. He was located running naked. Nearby authorities found the woman’s 10 month old child who had died.


Ammon Bundy, who has refused to make payments to St. Luke’s following a Judge’s decision to award the hospital 52-point 5 million in damages for defamation, is missing. The health system has taken ownership of his Emmett property and house. Bundy websites and social media have been removed.


Two new vending machines offering Narcan, a lifesaving medication that can help with opioid overdose, have been installed in Coeur d’Alene and Kellogg. The machines are filled with free Narcan, a brand name of the opioid reversal medication naloxone, as well as medication disposal pouches to discard unused and unwanted medication safely.


Gas prices have dropped another 9 cents this week. The threat of more expensive crude oil looms but may not affect year end pump prices. Triple A said the average price in Idaho is now $3-55.


It’s Election Day for Hazelton. It’s because last election, two residents in the same household in Zone 4 received ballots for zone 5. Those ballots were not counted and the election was within one vote. A district judge said a new election should be held. The polls will be open at the valley school gym from 8 am to 8 pm today for zone 4.
