Bryan Kohberger, who is charged with the murder of the four University of Idaho students last year, has had two motions denied.  The first was to have the grand jury indictment tossed out and another to appeal to a higher court.  The defense filed a motion for a change of venue.  A ruling is expected toward the end of April.


Idaho legislators advanced a bill this week that would require parents to opt in to the state’s vaccine registry, rather than Idaho’s existing policy that lets them to opt their children out.  Some health care professionals said the switch could leave Idaho medical offices with millions more in administrative costs.


Idaho lawmakers sent a bill for amendments that attempts to curtail the power of regional public health districts in the state after some pursued COVID-19 related restrictions during the pandemic.  The bill would modify laws that outline the powers of Idaho’s public health district boards, replacing language that allows boards to do “all” things necessary to protect public health.


Brace for a wintry mix! Tomorrow brings rain and snow, with a significant drop in temperatures ahead. After surpassing average precipitation for the year, more is on the way. Expect up to six inches of snow in the mountains and a chilly week as the latest storm system sweeps through.


A fire in a playground in Boise early yesterday morning is believed to be arson.  The Castle Hills Park playground was completely destroyed by fire.  The large playground equipment was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars park officials from Boise said.  


The Idaho Youth Ranch is suing its insurer for $10.7 million in "covered losses" following July 2022's fire.  The fire torched the side of the nonprofit's Boise distribution center and the outside yard, resulting in the loss of inventory and a warehouse. The Boise Fire Department ruled the cause of the fire as 'undetermined' on because of the efforts used to extinguish it.
