A former Idaho State Trooper who is currently on trial for the alleged murder of his wife was arrested Friday night at the Spokane International Airport. Daniel Charles Howard was arrested by Spokane International Airport police at 10:40 p.m. on Friday. Howard's trial started on March 4 and is expected to wrap up at the beginning of next week. He's been out of police custody since December 20, 2023 on a property bond.

Idaho State Police say a blown tire lead to the fatal crash that happened Saturday near Mountain Home on I-84. Police say a A 45-year-old male from Filer, was traveling westbound on Interstate 84 when the tire blew causing the vehicle to exit the roadway off the right shoulder where it rolled. There were six occupants in the vehicle; three adults and three juveniles. One of the juveniles succumbed to injuries at the scene. Three others were airlifted for treatment while two were taken by ambulance.
