If you live on the outskirts of a city, you might not be in a city’s area of impact much longer. The bill, signed by the governor would require areas of impact to extend no further than two miles from the city limits.
A new transportation planning group, called the Magic Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization, is looking for community feedback into transportation planning by May 12. Member organizations include the cities of Kimberly and Twin Falls, the Hillsdale Highway District, Twin Falls Highway District, Jerome Highway District, Twin Falls County, Jerome County and District 4 of the Idaho Transportation Department.
Unfortunately, it’s not an April Fool’s joke – Idaho gas prices are soaring again. According to AAA, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.67, which is 15 cents more than a week ago, 46 cents more than a month ago, and 12 cents more than a year ago. Meanwhile, the national average currently sits at $3.53 per gallon, which is the same as a week ago, 20 cents more than a month ago, and three cents more than a year ago.
Last April, Idaho began removing names from those on the list receiving Medicaid. To date 185-thousand were removed. Now, 40-thousand have regained access to the government health insurance program. Idaho health officials have stressed anyone can re-enroll for Medicaid at any time, which also offers retroactive coverage that extends back 90 days.
One of the two teens who face first degree murder charges in the death of Tattoo Artist Freddy Rodriguez was in court yesterday. Kaden Thomson appeared before a new judge where he filed a waver to delay having a speedy trial. He faces 10 charges ranging from grand theft, and1st degree murder.
The murder trial for Chad Daybell got underway yesterday as the state begins the process of assigning 18 jurors to the case with 6 alternates. The court adjourned just after six pm. They need to get to 50 jurors and each side gets 16 peremptory challenges.
