Malik Sherod ran for a career-high 132 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown, and returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score to help Fresno State beat Boise State 37-30 Saturday night. The loss drops the Broncos to 4-5 overall for the first time since 1997 and gives the Bulldogs possession of the rivalry's Milk Can trophy for the first time since 2017.


Elsewhere over the weekend, Weber State took the win over the Idaho State Bengals 33 to 21. Idaho Vandals took the win over Northern Colorado 27 to 13.


The fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Lady Eagles took the win over Northwest college over the weekend with a score of 105-56. The game signaled the kick off the season. This is the first time ever the lady Golden Eagles have scored 100 points in a season opener.


Elsewhere in college women’s basketball Northwest Nazarene took the win over the College of Idaho Yotes 70 to 59 and Boise state defeated the Masters College Mustangs 82 to 58.

For the men, Gonzaga defeated Lewis Clark state College 96 to 58.


Four of the area football teams punched their ticket to move on to the state football semifinals over the weekend to play in the final four. From the Kibbie Dome Kentrick defeated Dietrich 90 to 0. Camas County Defeated Garden Valley 70 to 13. Logos defeated Murtaugh 60 to 26. Oakley defeated Notus 70 to 6. Weiser downed Kimberly 35 to 32. Skyline defeated Twin Falls 44 to 20. Declo outlasted Grangeville 37 to 14 and it was Hagerman for the win over Mullan 54 to 12. Declo will face off with Melba on Friday night at home in a state semifinal matchup that is set to kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Hagerman will play top-seeded Kendrick in the semifinals with a time and location still to be determined. In the other 1A-D2 semifinal, Camas County will take on Rockland Friday night at Gooding High School, kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. And finally, in 1A-D1, Oakley has its state semifinal on Thursday night at home against Grace with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.
